Physical
Besides the mains power connector, the A-4 includes four XLR 5-pin outputs, one RJ45 input, and one RJ45 output. The housing of the A-4 is extremely compact and rugged, and it is designed for touring as well as installations. It weighs less than 1kg, and the dimensions of the box are 95 x 65 x 115 mm (L x W x H).

Protocols supported
The A-4 is a node with ArtNet, sACN, RDM, and DMX-512A support. The ArtNet input can be connected to Ethernet networks, while the ArtNet output can be directly connected to the Internet or to more A-4 units. All protocols can be configured through the SGM ArtNet Configurator software.

Superior direct view experience
The A-4 is a node with ArtNet, sACN, RDM, and DMX-512A support. The ArtNet input can be connected to Ethernet networks, while the ArtNet output can be directly connected to the Internet or to more A-4 units. All protocols can be configured through the SGM ArtNet Configurator software.

RDM setup and sensor monitoring
Since most SGM fixtures support RDM, the A-4 is able to set up DMX addresses and modes, to change labels, and even monitor the sensors of any luminaire connected to the device. This is possible, not only in real-time with a local network, but also remotely via Internet. A log alarm can also be established to notify the maintenance manager or technician when humidity or temperature exceeds a specific threshold. Monitoring data can be stored on the integral SD card.

Recorder, Player, and Scheduler
The A-4 can record different lighting shows programmed in a lighting console or controller, stored on an integrated SD memory card. When recorded, the A-4 can be set to play the show when needed, eliminating the need for a console. Since the A-4 can be connected to Internet, the A-4 can be timed to play a specific show on a set date and time for a specific time zone.

Output view
The A-4, not only works as a node with RDM support, but can also show the DMX output coming from a console through the ArtNet Configurator software. This is particularly useful for large-scale installations where a big amount of DMX universes are used. By monitoring raw sensor values in real time, any potential malfunction, can be detected in time.

Assignable outputs
One big advantage of the A-4 is the possibility of assigning which ArtNet universe is going to be handled in each XLR output. This output can also be configured to HTP or LTP merge for pixel mapping purposes, it can be set as a player, and it can also work as an XLR input. By simply adding one XLR male to male connector, the A-4 can be transformed into a DMX splitter, where one XLR works as an input and the other three just output the same DMX universe.
